Priyanka Vasudevan is Senior Associate - Urban Transport at EMBARQ India and works on projects related to the planning, operational and implementation of city bus services with local agencies. Priyanka has five years of experience in both urban and transport planning. In her previous position she was active in Mumbai through her involvement in planning and designing pedestrian and cycling environments. Prior to that, she worked in Australia to frame policies and strategies on public transport modes and non-motorised modes for multiple councils. Her interests also lead her to devise strategies through which organisations and new developments could propagate greener travel options for users. Priyanka holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Her previous study awarded her with a Bachelor degree in International Relations with a major in Japanese.

Pawan Mulukutla is Program Manager – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. His primary focus is on working with various stakeholders and transport agencies to provide technical support, sensitize sustainable development and build capacity. He coordinates the technical support for city bus service operations, feasibility and implementation of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, parking policy reforms and comprehensive mobility Plans (CMPs) in Indian cities. Pawan has over 13 years of experience in the field of transportation planning and traffic engineering. He has with more than 20 cities providing solutions to mobility, circulation, parking, congestion management and signal coordination. He was responsible for assembling project teams and leading them towards developing and determining transportation planning and design solutions for all modes of transport and also managing multiple partners and/or stakeholders. Pawan holds a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning from Clemson University, South Carolina and Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Bhopal. Pawan is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Maryland, USA.

Amit Bhatt is the Strategy Head – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. He provides vision and leadership to all transport initiatives across EMBARQ India, managing relationships with partners and stakeholders. Amit leads the work around BRT projects and city bus services in Surat, Indore, Jaipur and Bangalore; urban transport projects in Naya Raipur; restructuring the auto-rickshaw sector in Rajkot; and developing a public bicycling scheme in Jaipur. Amit has over 15 years of experience in the field of transport and urban development. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Transport Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Amit also has a Master’s degree in Economics from CSJM University, Kanpur, and a diploma in Transport Economics and Management from IRT, New Delhi.

Arnab Roy was Senior Associate – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India, providing technical and program management support for Atal Indore City Transport Services Ltd. to help improve the city bus service operations and assist in execution and operation of Indore's pilot BRT corridor. He is presently based in Sydney, working with Transport for NSW as a project manager in their Interchanges Planning team. Prior to EMBARQ, Arnab worked as a Transport Planner, promoting a new transit technology known as Personal Rapid Transit. In the past, Arnab has also been involved in program management for transport projects in the Thames Gateway London Partnership region in London, policy research and advice projects, and sustainable transport strategy development projects. Arnab holds a Bachelor’s degree in Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, a Master’s degree in Transport Planning and Environment from the University of Leeds, and a Diploma in Transport Economics and Management from Institute of Rail Transport, New Delhi. In his free time Arnab enjoys travelling, listening to music, and reading.

Ashwin Prabhu was Manager – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. His primary responsibility is working with the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) to improve the quality of public bus services in the city. He also co-ordinates technical support for several other transport projects in the city of Bangalore, including a proposed Bus Rapid Transport System corridor, developing better public transport terminals, and improving non-motorized transport environments, particularly for cycling. Prior to joining EMBARQ, he was a member of the research staff at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, where he provided statistical and economic analysis for a number of research projects on public health in urban areas. He has also been involved in a number of independent consultancy projects in the field of urban development across India, Africa and Europe. Ashwin has been formally trained as an economist and an urban development planner. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Columbia University, USA, and a Master’s degree in Urban Economic Development from University College London, UK.

Binoy Mascarenhas is Manager – Urban Transport and is primarily responsible for the public health and road safety improvement across projects at EMBARQ India. Binoy has participated in a number of road safety audits and inspections across the country. He has also worked on projects for improving street design. He is also working on studies to measure the public health benefits of Bus Rapid Transit in two cities. Binoy has over 8 years of work experience, across the fields on business analytics, project development and urban transport. He has previously worked at IL&FS, where he was involved in the development of transport infrastructure projects in Mumbai. He has also worked as a business analyst at Genpact, formerly GE Capital, where his work involved statistical analysis, route optimization and process systemization. Binoy holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, a Master’s degree in Economics from Gokhale Institute, Pune, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

Manish Pandey is Associate – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. He is currently engaged with public transport operators in the state to improve city bus operations as part of the Bus Karo Plus initiative. He is also working to develop the vision document for Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). As a part of developing support infrastructure for operators, Manish is assisting the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) design interchange and terminal facility in the city. Prior to EMBARQ, Manish worked as an architect. He was associated with EMBARQ for a year working as a consultant for Urban Transport on projects related to route rationalization, bus service evaluation and capacity building for various public transport operators. Manish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from RTM Nagpur University and a Master’s degree in Infrastructure Planning from CEPT University, India.

Nikhil Chaudhary is Associate - Urban Transport at EMBARQ India he focuses on projects that deal with improving pedestrian accessibility, developing high quality walking environments within critical urban areas, and developing master plans and structure-plans for green field development using transit-oriented development. He is based in Mumbai and works on multiple aspects of an accessibility review that include surveys, data collection, mapping exercises, preparing drawings and graphic representation of data, formulation of proposals and preparation of final reports. Nikhil is a trained architect and a research-oriented urban designer, with a Master’s Degree in Urban Design from the CEPT University, India. He is also a graphic artist, passionate about representing urban issues through various forms sequential art and illustrations.

Prashanth Kumar Bachu is an urban transport expert at EMBARQ India. He supports EMBARQ India’s initiatives on sustainable transport, focusing on improving the performance of bus operations across India. Prashanth has 9 years of experience in transport planning. Prior to EMBARQ India, he worked on projects in public transport planning and operations, route rationalization, long-range urban transport planning and modelling in association with Engineering Staff College of India and Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University. He has worked as a transport planner at PBS&J in Tallahassee, Florida. Prashanth completed Master’s coursework in Transport Planning at Louisiana State University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Osmania University in Hyderabad.

Srikanth Shastry is an Associate with the Climate and Energy program and is currently leading WRI's signature initiative, TRAC City, in India. Through his work he helps cities identify climate mitigation opportunities and promote low carbon development. Previously, he was working as a transport planner with EMBARQ India, where he co-led the Bus Karo Plus programme and was involved in providing technical assistance and capacity building to public transport operators. Prior to WRI, Srikanth was employed as a researcher at the Indian Institute of Science and he interned at the International Institute of Geo-sciences and Earth Observation (ITC), Netherlands. He also worked for a few years as a programmer. Srikanth has a Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rashtreeya Vidhyalaya college of Engineering, Bangalore and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Management (Transportation) from the University of Twente, The Netherlands.

Umang Jain is an Associate – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. He coordinates technical support for bus operations and non-motorized transport projects. He works closely with the Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) and Star Bus to help improve the quality of public bus services in these cities. He also leads FedEx’s Vehicles and Fuels program in India. Umang previously worked in project development, technical evaluation and bid process management of mass transit projects, urban transport projects He was involved in consultancy projects in the field of public transport, chief among these include preparing a bus operations plan for the city of Bathinda, Punjab. He was also involved in transportation consultancy, preparing technical cum financial feasibility for a number or rural road projects under the prestigious National Highway Development Program. Umang holds a Master’s degree in Planning with specialization in Transport from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. He also holds a Master’s degree in Economics.
 
Vijay Anadkat is a Fellow - Urban Transport working at EMBARQ India. He supports work on the Surat BRTS, City bus services and the Auto rickshaw initiatives at Rajkot. He also provides overall technical advice and guidance on transport projects. Prior to joining EMBARQ, Vijay worked as City Engineer (Special) and Head, JnNURM at Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Rajkot (Gujarat-India) for more than 23 years. During that period, he was also deputed to UNDP and the Urban Development Department, Government of Gujarat for three years.

He worked with CEPT University, Ahmedabad as an Assistant Professor for over a year. During this period he taught infrastructure and transportation planning to the students of Bachelor and Master of Planning programs (Urban and Regional Planning as well as Infrastructure Planning). His academic qualifications are varied -- Vijay is an engineer, a planner, a lawyer and a journalist.
