Training module on Integrated Infrastructure Planning

This module presents the discussions related to Non-Motorized transport and how to implement cycling-inclusive policies in India based on international examples. Various cities in developed countries have already gone through a history on increased motorization and what is generally called a "car-based city". Many of these cities have found that such an approach was unsustainable and were part of a paradigm shift towards a new set of principles and policies of urban transport. There are, however, some barriers to cycling that must be addressed and acted upon to achieve a cycling-inclusive policy, and India will have to act considerably to reduce these barriers and obstacles. This module presents various approaches for integrated planning of transport infrastructure, including both short-term and long-term measures.
