Kanika Jindal


Kanika used to work as Associate – Capacity Building at WRI India. She worked with the capacity building, knowledge management, communications and events teams on various activities like training, web content development, website design and management, social media outreach, stakeholder consultation and research. Kanika was also part of the core team that organizes India’s largest car-free day event called Raahgiri Day, every Sunday at Gurgaon and Delhi. She has been closely involved with the development and functioning of WRI India’s new capacity building website called The Hub, and wrote actively for TheCityFix and other EMBARQ India blogs and newsletters.

Prior to WRI India, Kanika has worked for private/corporate and non-profit organizations like Xchanging Technologies and NASSCOM in different capacities for a year and a half. As a software engineer, she has been a part of developing insurance application platforms in .Net and Java and has led various technical training sessions for new recruits. While at NASSCOM, she engaged with leading IT companies in Gurgaon, India to promote ‘Active Commuting’ in Gurgaon, India. She worked on designing and initiating a reach-out campaign for about 30 IT companies in the city and wrote a series of blogs on stories of people who used non-motorised transport to commute to their offices, to bring about a mind-set shift among citizens.

Kanika holds a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology from the Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Masters in Management (Human Resources) from the School of Inspired Leadership, Gurgaon.
