Name: Chhavi Dhingra
Designation: Manager - Capacity Building
Chhavi is Manager – Capacity Building at WRI India. She works on developing capacity building strategies for the organization, leveraging WRI India’s strengths and in-house research expertise for designing, delivering and evaluating training initiatives and other knowledge outreach activities, eventually tying them in with the national capacity building initiative of the Ministry of Urban Development of the Government of India. She also leads research activities in a variety of topics related to urban transport like vehicle sharing, mobility planning and institutional analyses for urban transport.
Chhavi has been co-authoring and contributing to reports and documents like the Training Module on Urban Transport Institutions in India for the UNDP and Ministry of Urban Development, UNEP’s Green Economy Report (TRL, 2011); Sustainability Reporting on the Status of Urban Transport in India (United Nations Commission for Sustainable Development, 2010).
Chhavi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pune, India, and a Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Chhavi has also been trained in transportation economics, and is a certified trainer in the Train-X methodology used in developing and delivering training programs.
