Name: Ashwin Prabhu
Ashwin used to work as a Manager - Urban Transport at WRI India Sustainable Cities. He was based in Bangalore where his primary responsibility is working with the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) to improve the quality of public bus services in the city. He co-ordinated technical support for several other transport projects in the city of Bangalore, including a proposed Bus Rapid Transport System corridor, developing better public transport terminals, and improving non-motorized transport environments, particularly for cycling.
Ashwin has been formally trained as an economist and an urban development planner. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Columbia University, USA, and a Master’s degree in Urban Economic Development from University College London, UK.
