Akhila Suri

Consultant - Urban Development and Accessibility


Akhila Suri is a Consultant with WRI India Sustainable Cities. She works with the Urban Development and Accessibility team at WRI India where she is involved in a range of projects including Hubli-Dharwad Transit Oriented Development (TOD) project, HSR Neighbourhood Improvement Plan and the MIDC Accessibility project. She is also actively involved in research and is assisting in preparing the Safe Access Manual and the TOD Guidebook. She has also actively engaged with external stakeholders and coordinated workshops/conferences. Akhila has participated in inter-disciplinary workshops in Japan, Ahmedabad and Auroville and her work has been shortlisted nationally in several architecture and urban design design competitions.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Academy of Architecture, University of Mumbai and a Master’s degree in Urban Design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She has lived in nine cities across five countries in the world, and is greatly interested in experiencing new cultures.
